بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
So you guys may or may not have noticed but I have not been blogging for a while now, maybe 5-6 months, primarily due to the fact that me and my family have moved to Saudi Arabia and therefore I needed some time to just focus on adjusting to our new surroundings. It has been pretty tough: emotionally and also in regards to Eeman, but subhanAllaah, things are so much better now alhamdolilah - hence back to the blogging business.
I have learnt some new things about myself along the way, as well as learning interesting things about Saudi Arabia that I wish to share with you, because:
Firstly, many Muslim women that move from the West to Saudi Arabia have had pretty much the same experience in regard to the emotional change and the dip in Emaan, so I wish to highlight these issues so that sisters who are planning on moving to Saudi can be prepared of what to expect - In sha Allaah - and;
Secondly, there are a lot of misconceptions spread about Saudi Arabia, which generally revolve around the following:
1. It is a backwards, overly zealous, oppressive and corrupt country; or
2. The complete opposite (especially to those who are new to Islam) and that it is an Islamic utopia due to it being the birthplace of our Prophet (sal'Allaahu alayhi wa salam).
It is neither of the above and like many things, cannot be painted as black and white, so I wish to address my findings and show a different and realistic perspective insha'Allaah.
Hopefully I will be posting weekly, every Sunday, from now on to start off with insha'Allaah. I will post about these experiences and will also be including one off recipes and any other interesting finds and benefits I gain along the way. I hope this blog may be of benefit to some/all of you and please, if there is anything you wish to know about living in Saudi Arabia, comment or message me via my other social platforms and I will try to answer you directly, or if it is more appropriate I may write a post on the topic to benefit others too.
